Summer Program Manager

GENERAL DESCRIPTION (1-3 LINES DESCRIBING ROLE):
The Summer Program Manager will manage the ELL Summer Program for students entering grades K-8. This includes supervising teachers and aides, organizing weekly payroll paperwork during the program, handling on-site student related issues and on-site parent communication, communicating and coordinating student participation in the SPACE program, overseeing daily transportation logistics and facilitating on-site visiting art, science and music programs. The manager creates and implements safety drills and emergency plans and responsible for room assignments and the daily recess schedule.
The Manager leads the program set up at the end of June. Program dates are July 1, 23, 8-26 and there is no program on July 4 and 5. The Summer Program Manager needs to be on-site from 8:15 am - 2:00 pm daily during the program.
.Bachelor’s Degree, M.Ed. in TESOL preferred
.Supervisory and ESL teaching experience
.Excellent interpersonal skills especially those in the areas of collaboration, problem solving and decision making
.Ability to use technology effectively
. Preference given to current NPS staff
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES (NOT LIMITED TO):
Attends staff meetings prior to and during the summer program
Coordinates the delivery and management of program supplies to and from the Program site. Prepares materials to be stored at the end of the program.
Manages teachers and aides attendance and payroll
Facilitates collaboration between all staff around scheduling
Works with stakeholders to address student issues
Collaborates with the Title I Summer Program Manager to assign classrooms, troubleshoot problems, and coordinate paperwork, including that required by the Health Department.
Communicates with parents, visiting programs, the custodian, and the transportation office regarding on-site needs including drop off and pick up, SPACE extended day, and crossing guard.
Supervises program interns to administer food distribution program. Coordinates with food providers.
Responsible for implementing “other job related duties” as needed.
Consistent and on-time attendance is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
.Work is generally performed in a school environment
.Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
.Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds
.Sufficient mobility to navigate within a large school building
